Cliff Crochet has been fishing sine he was old enough to walk. Cliff began fishing tournaments at the age of 12, and was hooked on tournament fishing. In 2000, Cliff joined the Lake Verret Bass club, fishing as a non boater that year. In 2001 Cliff began fishing local team tournaments, and whatever local events he could find. In 2004 Cliff joined the Louisiana B.A.S.S. Federation Nation, as well as FLW outdoors .Cliff began fishing Federation Nation tournaments and the Louisiana division of the BFL. In 2005 and 2006 Cliff qualified for the BFL regional, finishing 15 and 9th . In 2006 Cliff became the Louisiana B.A.S.S. Federation Nation State Champion , the youngest to ever win this award. In 2007 Cliff stepped up to the national level, fishing the B.A.S.S. Central opens. In 2008 Cliff continued fishing the Opens, but chose the fish the Southern Opens, nearly missing qualifying Elite Series. In 2009 Cliff returned to the Central Opens where he was able to qualify for the 2010 Bassmaster Classic and the 2010 Bassmaster Elite Series.
